Current Openings

Non-Rx Buyer/Merchandiser

Location: Lafayette, Louisiana area
Position: Full-Time
Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Louisiana Wholesale Drug Co. (LWD) is seeking a Non-Rx Buyer/Merchandiser to manage LWD’s non-prescription product categories and support the merchandising needs of our pharmacy customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Purchase and manage LWD’s non-prescription product categories
  • Manage vendor relationships and OTC pricing
  • Work with Hamacher on SKU rationalization and shelf placement
  • Assist with front-end merchandising and store conversions for new LWD pharmacy customers
  • Collaborate across departments to support purchasing, inventory, pricing, and customer needs

Skills Needed

  • Strong purchasing and inventory management skills
  • Strong analytical and pricing skills
  • Strong vendor negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Understanding of OTC products and independent retail pharmacy merchandising
  • Proficiency with Excel and business reporting tools
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple departments
  • Working knowledge of space management software preferred

Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience in purchasing, category management, or merchandising
  • OTC or independent retail pharmacy experience preferred
  • Experience working with vendors and product assortments
  • Ability to travel as needed for new customer store conversions
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Lafayette, Louisiana area
